Description
This flywheel is machined from a solid steel billet and is designed to work with both aftermarket performance clutches and the OEM Volvo clutch. Not only is this flywheel significantly stronger than the factory setup and much safer (ever seen a dual mass flywheel come apart at high hp/torque?) but it is also much lighter than the factory setup, weighing about 15 lbs compared to 25 lbs for the stock setup. Another benefit of using a single mass flywheel over a dual mass flywheel is that it can easily be resurfaced, making it much more cost-effective compared to dual mass flywheels, which typically have to be replaced if the surface is damaged, overheated, or the springs fail.
A single mass flywheel, by design, may induce slight chatter at idle. This is normal, but typically not offensive.
